Like our InterviewReady Comprehensive package, the Essentials package contains all the useful tips and advice. We will still ensure that the MMI is demystified by someone who understands the process. The only difference is that the Mock MMI day will be replaced by a tutor facilitated peer-run MMI day, which was the standard way MMI prep is run everywhere else, until we introduced the new model that had achieved an 100% medical school admission rate for our students in 2014.
Despite the success of our Comprehensive package, we recognise that not every student is able to fund the cost of having 10 staff and 8 rooms needed for the Mock MMI day. Therefore we have created the Essentials package to provide some key pieces of information and opportunities for monitored practise.
To perform well, you need to understand the underlying principles behind the use of MMI. We will discuss why it is used by medical schools and the schools' expectation of student performance.
We will discuss in detail the criteria assessors look for in the MMI. We will also explore the concept of the "ideal" medical candidate, why are certain traits considered important and a self reflection of whether you actually would like to be the said ideal.
After understanding the general concepts and expectations with in the medical MMI, we will then turn to applying that knowledge through dissecting some of the common scenarios that will be present in most medical MMIs.
Short of the Mock MMI day of our Comprehensive InterviewReady course, this is the best practice you can partake in. The stations are well designed to reflect the real MMI scenarios and there will be experienced tutors on hand to observe, facilitate and give feedback on the process.
Our experienced tutors will guide you through the peer interview process, so that you put what you understand about the scenarios into practice.
We will analyse peer performance from both the perspective of the interviewer and the student, so that you understand both how you are being perceived and what it is like being on the other side of the table doing the assessments.
